| Version | DOS | Linux | Win32 | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| E11 V5.1 Demo | free, 30-day limit on commercial use | One of each disk/tape controller type, 256 MB maximum total size of all disks. | E11 V5.1 (full) | US $2999 | US $3999 | US $4999 | As above, plus: unlimited disk size, Massbus removable pack disks, PC multi-serial boards; DOS/Linux supports Q/Unibus bus bridges. |
The Win32 native version is new as of V5.0. Its current I/O capabilities are: terminal windows, serial and parallel ports, raw Ethernet, and raw SCSI disks and tapes.
NOTE: Since V2.1, the DOS version of E11 no longer requires a DPMI server, although if one is present it will be used. Otherwise E11 will provide its own protected mode supervisor and will do its own memory management; E11 must be run this way (in plain DOS with no memory manager) if The Logical Company's older BCI-2003/BCI-2103 bus adapters are used, because they have memory alignment/contiguity requirements that can not normally be met with any known DPMI server, so E11's own memory management must be used. The newer BCI-2004/BCI-2104 bus adapters have much more flexible DMA capabilities and will work with E11 under a memory manager or in a Windows 95/98/Me DOS session (but not NT/2K/XP/Vista), in addition to working under plain DOS like the BCI-2x03 boards.
Quantity and dealer discounts are available. The second and later copies to be used by the same organization are 50% off the above prices. Or more specifically, whenever an organization buys a copy of E11, it gets a discount of 50% of the price of the highest version it already owns (so if your first copy was the full DOS version and your second is the Linux version, you pay $2499 instead of $3999). It is your responsibility to inform D Bit if you qualify for a 2nd/later copy discount. The above prices include telephone/email support and 12 months of free updates, which may be renewed annually for an extra charge. Existing customers may upgrade from DOS to Linux to Win32 at any time by paying the current price difference. All pricing is subject to change without notice.
Note that the "Demo" version's limitation on commercial use was new with V2.0, as was the 32 MB disk limit (increased to 256 MB in V3.1); there are no such limitations with the old V1.1 BETA version, however it is no longer supported by D Bit. The "Lite" version has been withdrawn as of V5.0 due to lack of interest.
