RX02 controller type DIP switches John Wilson 02-Aug-1999 Settings for the 2-position DIP switch ("S1") on the M7744 microcomputer board (the one on the top of the RX02 that swings up after you remove some screws): S1-1 S1-2 Interface OFF ON RX211, RXV21 (normal setting for PDP-11 use as DY:) ON OFF RX8E, RX11, RXV11 (RX01 emulation) OFF OFF RX28 (i.e. non-DMA RX02) Note: the RX8E and RX28 are just marketing names, they both refer to the same M8357 controller board which can drive either RX01 or RX02 drives. Actual switch meanings: S1-1 is read by the RX02 microcode, so who knows what it does, probably modifies the meaning of the fill/empty silo commands (although, maybe the DMA INTF pin (VV/40) is what does that) S1-2 decides whether the RX DRV AC L signal (TT/pin 38) is really connected to the drive's AC-low signal, or just echoes RX INIT L (which comes from the host controller). ON means AC-low IS ORed in. John Wilson D Bit
